For some time now, plastics have enjoyed increasing importance in all branches of industry due to their property profile. Compared to metals, they have a fundamentally different internal structure, which is also the reason for their lower mechanical and thermal stability.

An outstanding feature is that their technical properties, such as formability, hardness, elasticity, breaking strength, temperature resistance, heat resistance and chemical resistance, can be varied within wide limits by the choice of starting material, manufacturing process and admixture of additives.

The significantly lower weight compared to other materials such as metals or ceramics and the excellent processing properties speak for the use of modern plastics.
